DIY Autumn Wreath

WELCOME FALL!! This autumn wreath will merrily greet everyone at the front door all throughout the fall season.  The best part is that it takes very little time and next to no arranging skills to whip this out.  My grandma, aunt and mom make gorgeous wreaths!  They've got the skills to put together prolific wreaths that I lack.  So Auntie Carla took me to Craft Warehouse where my little cousin Wyley works to get all of the right supplies.

SUPPLIES
-12" wreath, I used grapevine
-wire clippers
-floral wire, I used green
-autumn garland
-autumn sprigs for filler

I went with green wire because it is fairly invisible once wound through the leaves.

I started out by wiring the garland to the wreath.  Just slowly wrap the wire around the garland and wreath in one continuous motion.  Don't worry about the wreath looking picture perfect after wiring the garland.  There will be gaps.  Items will need to be wired down, pulled out and adjusted.  It is just part of the process.

Where the gaps are, wire in your filler pieces.  Eye the overall look of the wreath to make sure most elements are balanced.  A few pine cones here, some berries there and pumpkins throughout.

The most important thing to remember is that your golden retrievers must pose for the pictures.  Bella could care less but Maggie LOVES to be the center making the perfect little model that she is.

This is golden retriever approved.
