Cupboard Door Chalkboard

Chalkboards are so popular right now with good reason.  Do you have a mantra or phrase that you collect in a Pinterest board?  Better yet, are you a self proclaimed task master?  With all of the words, phrases and ideas that run through our head, it helps to have something right there on the wall to jot down what's running through your noggin.

There are the usual items people use to make chalkboards like old windows or picture frames.  Want something a little heavier duty for your chalkboard?  Go to your rebuilding center like Habitat For Humanity's Restore or The Rebuilding Center to pick up supplies like a cast off cupboard door.  I picked these up for a couple bucks a piece.  The sweetest old man at The Rebuilding Center carried my cupboard doors all the way to my car.  The service is always amazing especially Rose the cashier!

Tape off the perimeter and spray a few layers of chalkboard paint.  3-4 layers are best.

Once the paint is dried, add some eyelets and wire to hang the board.  The chalkboard paint, eyelets and wire can all be found at your neighborhood hardware store like the ever amazing Parkrose Hardware.

Cure the chalkboard by rubbing chalk all over the board and then wipe it off with a towel.
