Creek Water Blue

A few weeks ago we were biking around on a gorgeous Friday evening.  Winding in and out of neighboring streets is so much fun when the air is warm and you don't have a care in the world.

Some times these wanderings lead to fantastic finds.  Like this little dresser.  With a little negotiation and a quick ride home a very neglected desk came home with me for some tlc.

I completely sanded the top down and heavily oiled it with hemp oil to bring out the natural cherry color.

After a few coats of a new blue milk paint color the bold voice of the desk came through.

I kicked around the idea of new knobs and pulls.  Then I thought about repainting them gold to really make them pop.  In the end I cleaned them and refastened them to remain a subtle accessory against the vibrant color.  You know deserving of pictures of grandfathers, passports and worldly travel guides.
