Rest Your Rump on a Bench

Lion King came out when I was 12 years old.  A favorite line from Pumbaa was "Yep, home is where your rump rests".  It was funny to say for little kids.  It was safe cursing!

Benches are an awesome, multi-functional piece to rest rumps, use as end tables, place at the end of the bed and sneak into small spaces.

When refinishing this little guy I ripped off the old floral upholstery and tempered the feminine curves with a gorgeous Pendleton Wool plaid.

The second bench had really clean lines and super pretty brass rolling feet.

Those features paired well with ruby red milk paint.

It is odd on this piece that the red worked more like a stain  and pulled out the wood grain beautifully.

I worked with a new color from Miss Mustard Seed call Curio.  It's brown but like a rich, fudgey brownie with chocolate chips and chocolate sauce.  Scrumptious.  I'm usually one for tons of color but something was different with this bench.  I needed a calm piece that screamed of old books and hot chocolate.  Bottoms down for resting your rump through the upcoming colder months.
