6 Wild Truths about Vintage Shows

  1.   The first truth is that for some magical reason you find that you always look stunning in really old, wildly priced mirrors.  Don't laugh just yet.  You'll see.
  2. Clusters of soft, dusty cowboy boots will draw you in like fruit flies.  The more colors and stitching, the quicker you run.

  3. 30 years ago your sweet grandma couldn't beg you to take home that canister set which now you can't live without.  Doesn't even matter if they match exactly.

  4. A chandelier of chalky, galvanized screens can become the most wonderous thing you have seen all year.  True, you have no where to put it but someday, just someday you'll get that giant metal, hangy thing with lights strung inside of it.
  5. After walking around the show for an hour you start manically checking Craigslist for local barn sales.  There must be more.  Congrats, you caught the junking bug.

  6. You want that ginormous farm table and chairs so badly that you've just called your partner to tell them you're tearing a wall out in the dining room to make space.  Truth be told, you can't wait to tell people they are sitting on horse hair stuffed seats.  Pass the gravy!
It's the background noise of a girlfriend's high pitch cackle and three generation families laughing over their new treasures.  It's two women reaching for the same ironstone pitcher because that pitcher is a reminding hug of their favorite grandmother.  You come to be comforted.  Come on in for a big bear hug.
